Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) appeared to lend support in a recent interview to the re-creation of a congressional committee directly descended from the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), a panel that was originally formed at the height of the Red Scare to be the chamber's deliberative body to handle the duties of Sen. Joe McCarthy's anti-communism crusade.
In an interview with Right Side News, King was asked if he supported a recent conspiracy-laced speech by conservative media mogul Cliff Kincaid, in which he argued that the next Republican Congress should bring back the House Internal Security Committee in order to combat "the ugly spread of Marxism in America." King responded, "I would. I think that is a good process and I would support it."
The House Internal Security Committee was the followup to the highly controversial HUAC, a congressional body meant to serve as a counterpart to the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee in which McCarthy was heavily involved. The HUAC was notoriously involved in a Hollywood investigation of actors, directors and writers that were allegedly communist sympathizers. More than 300 motion pictures professionals were put on a Hollywood blacklist as a result of hearings by the committee.

The House Committee on Un-American Activities (HCUA) or House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), (1938–1975) was an investigative committee of the United States House of Representatives. In 1969, the House changed the committee's name to "House Committee on Internal Security". When the House abolished the committee in 1975, its functions were transferred to the House Judiciary Committee.

Many people alive today do not remember what the House Un-American Activities Committee was. HUAC was an investigative committee of the United States House of Representatives that looked into subversion of the U.S. Government.
It investigated those accused of being Communists within the U.S. Government, the Media, especially in Hollywood, and to a large extent, it was successful in exposing Communist infiltration. It rooted out Communist operative Alger Hiss. It revealed the extent of infiltration of the film industry. It served America and protected it from what was then the most serious threat to the National Security of the United States of America – COMMUNISM.
After the 1950'S, a generation of leftists and fellow travelers in academia and the media claimed that the efforts of the HUAC and Joseph McCarthy in the Senate had been nothing more than a witch hunt. They claimed that it had destroyed peoples' lives who had nothing to do with Communism.
But, in the 1990's, The Verona transcripts of Intelligence intercepts from the former Soviet Union PROVED that most of the people that HUAC was investigating had been involved with Communist groups and many had actively spied on the U.S. for the Soviet Union. The old lefties still claim that HUAC was just a bunch of right-wing crazies, but the truth is exactly the opposite.
Today we have other threats, more dangerous ones, that exist in our Country. The old far-left still exists in the form of the ACLU, The National Lawyers Guild, along with Unions like SEIU and AFL-CIO, that are today's enemy within. We now see the Unions partnering with Communist Organizations in our country, like CPUSA!
Their unity was on full display in California on May Day! A May Day rally in Los Angeles, co-sponsored by the SEIU and various communist groups, as well as other unions, reflected yet another step in the normalization of self-identified communist and socialist ideologies in the Obama era. Not only did the SEIU help to organize the rally in conjunction with communists, they marched side-by-side with communists, while union members carried communist flags, communists carried union signs, and altogether there was no real way to tell the two apart.
WE NEED HUAC MORE THAN EVER BEFORE.
What we need is a group of brave men and women in the U.S. Congress, that are dedicated to rooting out Subversion of the United States. As long as this enemy is left to flourish and as long as there are those within our own Government and Media that turn a blind eye to the danger, our country's very existence is at stake.
BRING BACK HUAC! Let's take this fight directly to our enemy and stop them from destroying our Great Country!

The Venona project was a long-running secret collaboration of the United States and United Kingdom intelligence agencies involving cryptanalysis of messages sent by intelligence agencies of the Soviet Union, the majority during World War II. There were at least 13 codewords for this project that were used by the US and British intelligence agencies (including the NSA); "Venona" was the last that was used. That code word has no known meaning. (In the decrypted documents issued from the National Security Agency, "VENONA" is written in capitals, but lowercasing is common in modern journalism.) It was not until 1995 that project materials were released by the government. Analysis supported some criminal spy cases, such as that against Julius Rosenberg for some of the charges, but cast doubt on the case against his wife Ethel Rosenberg.
Significance
The decrypted messages gave important insights into Soviet behavior in the period during which duplicate one-time pads were used. With the first break into the code, Venona revealed the existence of Soviet espionage[15] at Los Alamos National Laboratories.[16] Identities soon emerged of American, Canadian, Australian and British spies in service to the Soviet government, including Klaus Fuchs, Alan Nunn May and Donald Maclean, a member of the Cambridge Five spy ring. Others worked in Washington in the State Department, The Treasury, Office of Strategic Services,[17] and even the White House.
The decrypts show that the US and other nations were targeted in major espionage campaigns by the Soviet Union as early as 1942. Among those identified are Julius and Ethel Rosenberg; Alger Hiss; Harry Dexter White,[18] the second-highest official in the Treasury Department; Lauchlin Currie,[19] a personal aide to Franklin Roosevelt; and Maurice Halperin,[20] a section head in the Office of Strategic Services.
The identification of individuals mentioned in Venona transcripts is sometimes problematic, since people with a "covert relationship" with Soviet intelligence are referenced by code names.[21] Further complicating matters is the fact that the same person sometimes had different code names at different times, and the same code name was sometimes reused for different individuals. In some cases, notably that of Alger Hiss, the matching of a Venona code name to an individual is disputed. In many other cases, a Venona code name has not yet been linked to any person. According to authors John Earl Haynes and Harvey Klehr, the Venona transcripts identify approximately 349 Americans whom they claim had a covert relationship with Soviet intelligence, though fewer than half of these have been matched to real-name identities.[22]
The Office of Strategic Services, the predecessor to the CIA, housed at one time or another between fifteen and twenty Soviet spies.[23] Duncan Lee, Donald Wheeler, Jane Foster Zlatowski, and Maurice Halperin passed information to Moscow. The War Production Board, the Board of Economic Warfare, the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs and the Office of War Information, included at least half a dozen Soviet sources each among their employees. In the opinion of some, almost every American military and diplomatic agency of any importance was compromised to some extent by Soviet espionage.

I am writing to you about my concern for the direction this country is headed. In the past, advocating for a Communist or Socialist state in this country was met with a determination to squash those ideas because remaining a free Republic was paramount. Today, these same messages are not only being embraced but are on the increase, not just at rallies but in our schools, both elementary and secondary. Even within our government, federal, state and local, more politicians are advocating for socialist/communist forms of regulations and laws. This is an unacceptable situation. The House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) needs to be brought back and enforced.
TREASON - Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.
A betrayal of trust or confidence.
SEDITION - the stirring up of discontent, resistance, or rebellion against the government in power
Archaic revolt or rebellion
Conduct or language inciting rebellion against the authority of a state.
Insurrection; rebellion.
SUBVERSION - the act of subverting, the state of being subverted; especially-a systematic attempt to overthrow or undermine a government or political system by persons working secretly from within.
Currently groups like CPUSA, SEIU, AFL/CIO and many others are calling for the overthrow of our government to be replaced with a Communist or Socialist state. Unions are involved in rallies across this country with Communist and Socialist groups, marching arm in arm encouraging the down fall of our country, calling for revolution and anarchy. This is insurrection and these people are traitors! Treason, subversion, and sedition are just the beginning of what these people are guilty of. There is no place in this country for revolutionaries and anarchists, they belong in jail or should be deported to countries more in line with their beliefs.

This needs to be used again against the enemies of our country who are currently enjoying unprecedented freedoms. I believe in the 1st Amendment, but I also believe that if someone is calling for the overthrow of our government and republic, they are breaking the law and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Please support those that are willing and ready to stand up for the protection of our free Republic. Our country's very survival depends on its ability to investigate, arrest and prosecute those that are calling for and are involved in the destruction of our country.
